I’ve never been one to have crushes on celebrities. I’ve never been fond of the way girls craze over Justin Bieber like he’s a God, or that Taylor Lautner is the sexiest man alive. I’ve always found it completely ridiculous, absurd, and quite comical that anyone could have intimate feelings for someone they’ve never met. I also found it creepy in a way that these fans know all about their celebrity crush, when the celebrity themselves have no idea they even exist.

However, I’ve changed my views on celebrity crushes immensely.

Meet Rachel McAdams, my celebrity crush.

I can easily admit, I’m not a stalking, obsessive fan. I don’t keep posters of her on my wall, write her name all over my notebooks, send her a bunch of fan letters signing it “Your #1 Fan,”. But I have seen almost all of her movies, and loved all of them. I do dream about meeting her one day and getting her autograph or even better, getting a picture taken with her. Even if I could say “Hi” to her and have her say “Hi” back, my life would be complete.

What’s not to like about her? First of all, she’s absolutely gorgeous, she’s from Canada (bonus! eh?), she’s an amazing actress, down to Earth, sweet, and probably one of the least cocky celebrities out there.

I’m very proud for her success. Most people know her from the popular romance film The Notebook, and from being the blond bitch in Mean Girls. She’s also from Morning Glory, The Lucky Ones, The Time Traveler’s Wife, and quite a few others. I’m at awe that she’s yet to win an Oscar, because she really is a terrific actress, and I’m not just saying that because I have a pathetic crush on her. If you really want to see her act great, check out The Lucky Ones. It’s my favourite movie, and Rachel is just remarkable in it.

Anyhow, I better stop it here. I could go on and on about why I heart Rachel. I do hate to say that I now understand why people are infatuated by celebrities, but I can say that I still don’t understand why people love Justin Bieber. Bleh.
